Our Commitment to
Giving Back
We believe in the power of an enterprise with a conscience. From our staff, to our broader community, to the world at large, we are committed to improving the well-being of our society and environment.
We care about our employees
Pashmina Looms would not be able to maintain the high standard of work it provides its customers without our dedicated artisans and staff.
We work to ensure they have the support needed to continue to meet the high demand of our customers and the global market.
We provide each employee with life insurance, a retirement plan, and full healthcare coverage. Within our team, we encourage both personal and professional growth, with regular skill development workshops during which our employees learn modern techniques of embellishing, garment making, and textile production.
We make conscious efforts to train and employ women and people from marginalized backgrounds to join our exemplary team. Women make up 80% of our workforce. We also ensure that the children of our employees receive a quality education. We provide scholarships for children – particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds – up to higher secondary level.
We have implemented a zero-waste production cycle and are mindful to avoid the use of materials we cannot dispose of responsibly.
We respect our natural environment
The less pressure put on our environment, the happier we are.
We only work with sustainably collected raw materials and certified ecofriendly dyes. Within our workshop, we have implemented a zero-waste production cycle and are mindful to avoid the use of materials we cannot dispose of responsibly. We use handlooms instead of energy-intensive power looms to reduce power consumption, and an on-site water filtration system helps us ensure we leave as small a footprint as possible.
We contribute to progress in education and health in rural Nepal.
